Before founding Policy Translation, LLC, in 2013, Alwyn Cassil served as director of public affairs at the Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC), an independent, nonpartisan health policy research organization. At HSC, Alwyn was responsible for identifying key policy and research issues, writing and editing HSC publications, and handling media relations and public policy outreach. Previously, she was a press officer at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General and the Health Care Financing Administration, now the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Before serving in the federal government, Alwyn was Washington editor of AHA News, the weekly newspaper published by the American Hospital Association. She also was an award-winning staff writer for several daily newspapers and received a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida.
